Shamanic Traditions
Shamanic Traditions offered a wonderful exploration of the Shamanic worlds, including historic, cultural, and experiential accounts. It also spoke to the cultural aspects lost as the western world took hold, and the grave threat appropriation has on indigenous lineages upholding their traditions. The article ‘Living in an Energetic Universe’ below was written by Karen, the head of the CTS program, and ‘Water and Stone’ was coauthored by Karen and Kimmy, the professor of the course. Synchronistically, I met Kimmy shortly before the term started at a Sufi retreat in Mexico. It was affirming to my path to see how small the world gets when one is pursuing what feels in alignment to them. I included my final paper I wrote for the class below as well.
